Description
Tandem Skydiving - Barwon Heads
From 15,000ft, the stunning coastal views of the Great Ocean Road, Bells Beach, Port Phillip Bay and the Melbourne CBD are spectacular. Skydive the Great Ocean Road for the thrill of a lifetime in one of Australia’s most beautiful cities.
You will start your journey with a briefing from your tandem skydive instructor; this extremely important run-down is where you'll gain the knowledge necessary to safely and effectively tandem skydive. Although this may seem like an arduously long 15 minutes, it's a must to ensure yours and your instructor's safety and afterwards, you'll know about each aspect of your journey, including what to do when you’re in the plane, in free-fall, under the canopy and finally, at the touchdown.
Once your briefing is complete, it’s time to 'gear up'. This will be the most nervous you've ever been while putting on clothes, but it is all worth it. Once you've gone through these boring but essential steps, it’s time to board your plane and get ready for the most exciting time of your life. You'll be able to see a range of iconic landmarks from the plane. The renowned surfing hot spot, Bells Beach, can be seen from the air and you’ll also discover the beauty of Port Phillip Bay from this height.
As you get to your desired height, your heart will be flooded with adrenaline – slow yourself down by taking in the scenery and taking a deep breath. As you approach the door, your instructor will countdown, 3,2,1… Jump!
Soaring through the air at terminal velocity (220km/h), you’ll feel like you’re in a weightless atmosphere, with the beautiful panoramic scenery rushing towards you. At about 5,000ft, your instructor will open the chute and from this point on, you'll really be able to enjoy the scenery as you float along through the clouds.
The Great Ocean Road skydiving team are highly trained and have performed 1000's of jumps, so you know you’re in safe hands. They are also members of the Australian Parachute Federation, which means they adhere to the regulations that are put in place by the governing body.
Don’t forget to get yourself a copy of your adrenaline pumping adventure, available on videos and photos from the staff.
