White Water Rafting Mission Beach - Things to do in Mission Beach - Tully River Rafting

Spread along 14km of pristine coast are 4 beachfront towns that are collectively known as Mission Beach: Wongaling, South Mission, Mission and Bingil Bay. The area is growing fast, particularly Mission Beach itself, and is the best place to spend a few days between Townsville and Cairns. The beaches themselves are worth it, but the nearby rainforests are just as much of a draw card, including white water rafting along the Tully River. Wandering through town you may also come across the endangered and slightly prickly (in temperament, they are of the feathered variety) southern cassowary. Dunk Island is just off the mainland here, as well as the exclusive Bedarra Island, while a little further to the south is Hinchinbrook Island National Park, all renowned for their dense tropical rainforests, wildlife and secluded beaches.
