Things to do in Exmouth - Diving with Whale Sharks at Ningaloo Reef - Whale Watching
Fancy snorkelling with whale sharks at Ningaloo Reef or diving among hundreds of species of fish in pristine coral reefs just off endless, deserted whiter-than-white beaches and lagoons? Chances are you’ll love the Ningaloo Reef where the continental shelf literally drops away, hugging the Coral Coast from just below Coral Bay all the way up to the tip of the North West Cape. Aside from diving amongst amazing coral reefs some of the bigger attractions out here are viewing one of the largest populations of dugongs, as well as the opportunity to swim with whale sharks and manta rays (April – July). This is also a great spot to see migrating whales passing on by (June – Nov).
Your trip here will likely start or finish at Exmouth at the top, which is a bit larger with more facilities, and Coral Bay, one of the more laid back resort towns you’ll ever come across. In between you’ll spend idyllic days beach hopping by 4WD and camping on the coast within the Cape Range National Park.
