There’s nothing quite like canyoning Cairns to get your adrenaline pumping. Our canyoning tours are full-day trips, where you’ll get the chance to slide down rocks, swim in natural pools, abseil down rock faces and cliff jump. You will experience the majestic scenery of Far North Queensland, walking through the rainforest and observing the region’s unique wildlife, such as lizards, birds and butterflies.

With Everything Australia, you can choose from two Cairns canyoning destinations: Crystal Cascades or Behana Gorge. Both tours offer return transfers from central Cairns (or the Northern Beaches for the Behana Gorge trip) and include a light lunch and all necessary equipment. The trips are designed for beginners, so there’s no need to have previous canyoning experience. Your professional guides will be experienced and qualified, and they will walk you through each activity throughout the day.

On the Crystal Cascades canyoning tour, your adventure will begin as you take a short walk to Devil’s Drop. Then, you’ll explore the rainforest as you zipline, abseil, slide down natural rock water slides and jump down waterfalls. Your guides will lead you to a secluded swimming spot, where you’ll have the chance to relax after an exciting day of canyoning.

If you opt for the Behana Gorge canyoning tour, you can expect a similar experience. You’ll hike amongst stunning waterfalls before canyoning through the gorge, where you will careen down rock water slides, abseil down sheer rock faces and swim in natural freshwater pools. You’ll cap off the experience by kicking back at a nearby swimming hole.

To take part in one of these Cairns canyoning tours, you will need to have a moderate level of fitness and be able to swim confidently. Much of the canyon adventure will take you through waterfalls and swimming spots, so having those skills is essential. Canyoners must be at least eight years old, and anyone under the age of 18 will need to travel with a parent or guardian.

Both tours operate daily all year round, leaving from Cairns City at 6:30 a.m. or 12:30p.m, so you can choose whether you’d prefer to make a morning or afternoon trip. At the end of the day, you’ll have an opportunity to purchase digital photos to reminisce about your canyoning excursion for years to come.

The excitement of canyoning Cairns is genuinely unlike anything else. Whether you decide to explore the Crystal Cascades or the Behana Gorge, your Cairns canyoning experience will provide a lifetime of memories to think back on with a smile.
