Description
Join AAT Kings on their Blue Mountains Unearthed Tour, which immerses you into the magical, World Heritage Listed Blue Mountains region of New South Wales.
This tour takes you to heart of this beautiful landscape and will have you awestruck from start to finish. From the flora and fauna that call this spectacular mountainous region home, to the towering sandstone escarpments, colourful cliffs, narrow canyons and sparkling waterfalls – join this wondrous adventure tour and you will have a story to tell for a lifetime.
Part of the Greater Blue Mountains, the Blue Mountains National Park is one of the several parks that make up this magnificent region. With deep ravines, beautiful sandstone outcrops and lush blue-tinged forest, you'll get lost in the wonderland of this natural scenery. Throughout your journey, you’ll visit remote, pristine locations, while your guide discusses this majestic landscape filled with native flora and fauna.
To begin your tour you will visit Muru Mittigar Aboriginal Cultural and Educational Centre for an Australian Indigenous cultural experience. The guides will take you on a journey full of cultural activities. Listen to the sound of the didgeridoo, see boomerang throwing and participate in a traditional morning tea of damper with native tea.
Then you will take one of the most scenic routes across the Blue Mountains. Take in amazing bushland scenery which contrasts against the sandstone cliffs before arriving for lunch at the Boiler House Restaurant in the Hydro Majestic Hotel. The hotel offers breath taking views of the Megalong Valley.
Next up is a stop at Leura Cascades to enjoy waterfalls and bridges found in fern valleys and tall eucalypt trees. Then take a short and easy walk with your guide who will teach you of the history of Echo Point, where you will find the famous Three Sisters rock formation. Walk the Honeymoon Bridge, where you can admire views of the Jamison Valley or for the more adventurous, take the steep stairs as close to the Three Sisters as you can get!
