Uluru Sunrise & Guided Base Walk Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Uluru Sunrise & Guided Base Walk
Description
You will have an early start as you make your way to Talinguru Nyakunytjaku – the Uluru sunrise viewing area. Warm up with a tea or coffee and a light breakfast as you absorb the beauty of your surroundings. You will be in awe of the view you get of the stunning desert landscape as the sun peeks over Uluru and Kata Tjuta. This is the perfect photo opportunity. After sunrise you will board the coach for a short drive to the base of Uluru. Start your base walk from Kuniya Piti a sacred site, and listen to stories of the Anangu (Aboriginal people).
The Mala walk is next. It is believed that as you wander through this area you are surrounded by the spirit of the hare-wallaby people - the Mala Tjukurpa. Witness Kaṉtju Gorge that is fed by a spectacular waterfall that flows down the side of Uluru after significant rainfall. Stop off at the base of the climb point and after a short break, continue along the Lungkata Walk.
See Mutitjulu Waterhole, what was a cherished source of water for the Aboriginal people in the area. Here you will get to observe beautiful Aboriginal rock paintings and also learn about the Aboriginal and European history of Uluru. The last section of the base walk is back to Kuniya Piti where you will board the coach again back to town.
Throughout your journey your guide will share many historical facts as well as an informative account of the amazing rock paintings you'll see. You’ll learn about the Aboriginal people and listen to their stories and discover the spiritual culture that engulfs this land.

A moderate level of fitness is required on the Uluru sunrise and guided base walk tour as it includes a lengthy but gentle walk on flat ground. There are up to 45 people on board the bus so effectively this is the maximum number of guests at any one time although there are often tours with much less than that.
