The booking and redemption process was a bit clunky, especially for the Eureka tower vouchers we bought. We had to buy the vouchers, re-enter a voucher code on the ET website, print that page, then still had to wait in line for it to be re-processed on site. Overall the 5% discount was well worth it for the larger purchases (shark diving), but for small activities I wouldn't buy from them again.

Latest Questions about Shark Diving - Swim with the Great Whites (Port Lincoln)

Hi I’m so keen to do a Shark Dive but the Great Whites don’t seem to be coming there much tge last few years any ideas why

    Comments

Thank you so much for your enquiry. Generally speaking, the highest chance to see sharks is between May - July, however, this can be affected by various factors such as changes in food supply and global warming. I would recommend booking for the beginning of the season.

Hi I'm going to Australia in march but believe this is a bad month for sharks what are the odds on seeing them is it slim?

    Comments

Hi Peter, It's difficult to say as sharks are very unpredictable , but the odds are still pretty good. Great whites are spotted here at all times of year although where possible the best time is probably a little later between May and July as the seal pups are just starting to move away from the shore making a great food source for the sharks.

What do you get for this price....from my understanding you have to pay extra on top of this to go in the cage or the sub......is this correct????

    Comments

The Great white shark trip from Port Lincoln includes the 3 hour boat ride each way to the Neptune Islands, commentary. snacks and lunch. Then once you are at the shark location, you can decide if you want to get in the cage under water with the sharks, watch from the underwater viewing area or simply watch from the safety and comfort of the boat. It costs an extra $125 on the day if you want to get in the water with the sharks or view from the underwater area or $150 if you want to do both. The reason you can't pre book as people are often unsure what they want to do until they get out there on the day.

Are family allowed to come on the boat if the aren't going to dive? is it cheaper if i purchase 2 tickets?

    Comments

Hi Ron. Yes your family are allowed to come on the Great White Shark Dive Boat. There is a child and adult price and then if you wish to actually dive in the cage once you are out there then you pay the extra $100 per person on the day. So the cost is $345 for adults and $245 for kids, plus an extra $100 on the day if you decide to dive.

I am planning to holiday in Pt Lincoln next year, what month would be the best time to avoid inclement weather and to see the Great Whites?
How many passenger can each tour take?

    Comments

    Hi John,

The best months are Jan to Feb or May through to October. The maximum number of customers per group are 18 and there is only 4 in a cage at any one time.

When is the best time to go shark cage diving in Port Lincoln?

    Comments

Hi Adam. Given that great white sharks are nomadic and fairly unpredictable its impossible to give you a definitive answer. However, generally speaking, the best time of year to see great white sharks at the Neptune Islands is May - October. At this time the seal pups that were born in the summer months start leaving the safety of the shore and therefore make an easy food supply for the sharks. December through to February has always been another great time to swim with great whites as this is their annual breeding season. The weather is also warmer at this time of year making trips popular in these months.

if a shark is not seen during the trip, can we come back the next day without an additional fee? are the dates nov 7 -12 available for shark cage diving? thank you!

    Comments

Hi Mylene, the cost is a flat $295 for the full day cruise and lunch etc and then there is an additional $100 payable up front on the day to swim with the sharks. If you do not see any sharks from the cage then you do not pay the additional $100 on the day. If you want to go again on another day then you will need to pay the $295 fee which covers for national park fee's, food and general expenses.
