Begin your day travelling on one of the longest roads in Australia, the Stuart Highway and enjoy stunning views. As you enter the Arnhem Highway, the Marrakai Plains will frame a picturesque backdrop for the rest of your journey. The amalgamation of Kakadu’s mangrove fringed coastal areas, expansive flood plains, lowland hills and forest habitats creates one of the most diverse landscapes you’ll ever see. Kakadu is home to a myriad of animals, bird species, insects and plants. You will be astonished at the wildlife presence in the park everywhere you go.

World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park is the largest National Park in Australia covering over 19,800 square kilometres.

On top of the abundant wildlife sightings, examine the rock art sites that depict the Aboriginal culture evident at Kakadu. Some of these illustrations date back 50,000 years. Be captivated as you meander through the Nourlangie rock art site that has provided shelter to the indigenous people for many thousands of years and portrays their deep spiritual culture. A 1.5km guided walk around the base of the rock will see you witness many different forms of Aboriginal rock art paintings.

Following a buffet lunch at Cooinda enjoy a cruise on the Yellow Water Billabong. Keep your eyes peeled for a saltwater crocodile and the many birdlife species as you cruise the scenic yellow waters. After your cruise you will visit the Warradjan Aboriginal Cultural Centre where you will be introduced to the life of the Bininj people, the locals of Kakadu National Park.

• Low level of fitness is required. Includes a small 10-15 minute walk with a gradual climb to the viewing point
