Description
The unbelievable views and stunning atmosphere of Melbourne’s Grampians National Park takes you back to a time before man shaped the land and gives you a taste of Victoria in all of its glory. The Grampians National Park Day Tour allows you to see this breathtaking location – with its magnificent cascading waterfalls and rugged, mountainous terrain – during a day-long tour that will inspire and invigorate you. The lofty sandstone ranges that make up the Grampians National Park were formed millions of years ago and have been shaped by the seasons to form what we see today.
The Grampians – which make up the south-west section of the Great Dividing Range – is home to a fascinating array of flora and fauna, including over a thousand species of plant life, twenty unique orchid species and two hundred species of birdlife.
Your tour begins at the quaint township of Beaufort, where you will enjoy a delicious morning tea before being given access to the amazing sights and precious wildlife within the Wonderland Ranges and Grampians National Park. After taking in the magical vistas of the Grampians, you will visit Halls Gap in your intimate-sized group vehicle for a delightful tour. Next, soak up some Australian history when you visit the Bambruk Aboriginal Cultural Centre and learn about the area’s first human inhabitants and how they lived within this natural wonderland.
A gentle walk brings you to some of Victoria’s most spectacular panoramic lookouts – Boroka Lookout and Jaws of Death (which is also known as the Balconies) – where you will be mesmerised by the majestic views. Another easy walk takes you to Mackenzie Falls – a delightful cascading waterfall that meanders its way through the Park, feeding life into the entire area. At Zumsteins Park, you will come face to face with Australia’s most loved residents as you see lounging kangaroos, cheeky emus and a variety of other captivating wildlife.
This is truly a trip to remember and is definitely cause to bring out the expensive camera. While a moderate level of fitness is required, most of the terrain is fairly gentle, making this a great day trip for families, couples or groups of all ages.
