Description
The Eureka Skydeck – which is located in Melbourne City – stands at a whopping 297.3 metres, making it the highest platform in all of Australia and the Southern Hemisphere. During your Eureka Skydeck experience, you will have a rare vantage point of the skyscrapers, historical architecture and bustle of this magnificent and thriving metropolis.
Skydeck Experience
It will only take around 40 seconds to arrive at the observation deck (level 88!) from the ground entrance. With crystal clear glass from the ceiling to the floor, you can take in the grandeur of Melbourne from every angle. The Terrace – which allows you to step outside of the ‘air-lock’ – is the ideal experience for the adventurous type. While you may have to endure the possibly strong winds, you also have access to reflection-free views from 300 metres above the ground. You can take in the Sporting Precinct and Port Phillip Bay in detail with the free high-powered binoculars.
Edge Experience
You will also have access to the thrilling Edge Experience. Step inside a completely glass cube that protrudes three metres from the building, allowing you to stare down, 300 metres directly below your feet. This is a matchless experience that is unique and knuckle-whitening. The Edge Experience is available to those with wheelchairs and children 7 years and below are allowed entrance if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Photos of your experience are also available.
During this unforgettable viewing experience, Eureka Skydeck provides informative, fun and interactive activities. Listen to the ambient sounds of Melbourne as you gaze out at the various parts of the city; the amazing soundscape emulates the sounds of trams arriving at various destinations, the music, talking and shouting of the bustling streets, or the roar of an F1 engine at the Grand Prix Circuit in Albert Park. You can also explore the rich and varied stories and histories of Melbourne with the innovative interactive Serendipity Table.
The Eureka Skydeck is located in Southbank, at the top of the Eureka Tower. You can relax and have a delicious lunch at Kiosk, or go shopping at the Edge Shop on Level 88.
First opened in 2006, the Eureka Skydeck is a modern architectural marvel that provides the whole family with an opportunity to understand and appreciate the beauty and richness of Victoria’s capital.
