Description

Located 2.5 hours north of Cairns, in the heart of the Daintree National Park World Heritage Area, lies Cape Tribulation. The Daintree National Park is home to the oldest continually surviving tropical rainforests in the world and you can appreciate the immense beauty all in a Cape Tribulation day tour from Cairns. Estimated to be over 100 million years old, the Wet Tropics area where Cape Tribulation is situated is home to around half of Australia's plant and animal species with many species found nowhere else in the world.

You will begin your Cape Tribulation and Daintree Rainforest day tour from Cairns with a scenic drive from Cairns to Cape Tribulation. The road winds its way past pristine white sandy beaches exposing some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in Australia. The population of Cape Tribulation sits at 103 residents that have created a peaceful eco-friendly community set amongst the beautiful rainforest flora and fauna.

The Adventure Company offers two different tour options for the Cairns to the Daintree Rainforest excursions. Choose from the Starter Tour or the Deluxe Tour.

Starter Tour
The Starter Tour will suit the budget conscious traveller but is designed to still include the must see attractions between Cairns and Cape Tribulation Beach so you don't miss out. Lunch is not inlcuded in this tour option but there are many places to buy your own lunch at one of the coastal stops along the way. The highlights of the Starter Tour include:

• Coastal Drive  from Cairns to Port Douglas on one of the most recognised scenic coastal drives in Australia. Ensure you have your camera ready as your tour departs Palm Cove for breath taking views
• Enjoy free time in Port Douglas to meander the beachside village atmosphere with a brief tour of 4 mile beach
• Follow the boardwalks for a leisurely stroll through the stunning Mossman Gorge rainforest area and view the numerous waterholes
• Enjoy the spectacle at Alexandria Lookout. The prime viewing point for where where the Daintree Rainforest, Daintree River and the Coral Sea merge into one spectacular panoramic vista, the perfect place for that postcard photo!
• Bring your own lunch or grab a snack from the restaurant and relax on the white sand of Cape Tribulation Beach or enjoy a swim in the resort pool (Swimming in the ocean is seasonal due to stingers period Oct to June)
• Enjoy free time for a walk along Cape Tribulation Bay or sit back and relax under the fringing rainforest of the Daintree where the “Rainforest meets the Reef”!
• Explore the majestic Daintree River with a 1 hour Wildlife and Crocodile exploration. See wildlife at play in their native habitat and learn about tales of the area from a local guide
• As we return to Cairns make the most of a brief stop at Rex’s Lookout, a popular spot for scenic photos of the coast line and out to Green Island

Deluxe Tour
The Deluxe Tour includes the same sights as the Starter Tour plus more. See the wildlife at the Rainforest Habitat in Port Douglas, then enjoy a yummy chef prepared lunch at Cape Trib Beach House in Cape Tribulation.

• Visit the award winning Rainforest Habitat in Port Douglas where you will navigate purpose built native habitats of some of Australia’s rare and endangered animals. You will have a chance to see 100’s of birds, hand feed a Kangaroo and see a Koala doing what they do best…..sleeping!
• Just metres from Cape Tribulation Beach you will be treated to a declicious lunch. Indulge in a set menu choice of local barramundi (fish), steak or a vegetarian option all served with a fresh garden salad & chips, daily baked bread finished off with a tropical fruit platter to share at your table. Bring your towel & swim wear for a dip in the resort pool or in the ocean (marine stingers are present during the stinger season Oct to June)
