Description
If you’re visiting the Sydney region, experiencing the raw natural beauty of the Blue Mountains is an absolute must-do. The Blue Mountains Day Tour showcases the best of this stunning region, allowing you to experience the majestic views, amazing wildlife and stunning atmosphere of one of New South Wales’ most beautiful locations.
The amazing Blue Mountains is a world heritage listed area spanning an astounding 248,000 hectares! Lush rain forests surrounded by colourful cliffs and containing narrow canyons, sparkling waterfalls and rugged sandstone escarpments will charm you as you explore this breathtaking place.
Your journey to the quaint mountain village of Leura opens you up to a bounty of stunning sights along the way. Along the way, enjoy light refreshments on the Nepean River, the tranquil western border of Sydney before reaching Kings Tableland, the best lookout point for the majestic Blue Mountains, away from the masses. Meander your way to Wentworth Falls, a pleasant bush walk to one of the most spectacular view points. At Leura, take your time to explore this relaxed, picturesque village. Browse the shops and choose your spot for lunch (own expense) if you haven't packed your own.
Next up is Katoomba, the centre of the Blue Mountains where you will see some of Australia’s most spectacular high country and two of the regions most popular attractions; the Three Sisters rock formation and Scenic World. At the Three Sisters rock formation you will hear the Aboriginal legends about this famous sight. At Scenic World you can choose to experience the rides on offer (own expense) including the Skyway - Australia's highest cable car, Cableway - Australia's biggest cable car, Railway - the steepest incline passenger carrying railway in the world and the Walkway - the longest elevated boardwalk in Australia, with 2.4 km inside a temperate rainforest.
On your way back to Sydney, relax on the coach as you pass the Homebush Bay 2000 Olympic Games before enjoying a spectacular Parramatta River and Sydney Harbour cruise. Escape the evening traffic and unwind on this final leg as you cruise along Parramatta river (which becomes Sydney Harbour) back to Circular Quay (city centre) where your tour ends.
