Description
With stretches of pristine white sand beaches, tranquil, clear turquoise waters and abundant marine and wild life, Moreton Island has something to offer everyone.
Moreton Island is one of Australia’s largest sand islands, located in Moreton Bay, only 35kms off the coast of Brisbane. In fact, because the Island is made up entirely of sand, all vehicle access to the townships is along the beaches and the tracks that wind around the island, making a 4WD the only practical mode of transport! The island spans 38km from north to south and 8km across at its widest point. Moreton Island is 95% National Park, ensuring its unique flora and fauna and magnificent natural landscape are protected.
There are so many activities available to visitors to Moreton Island and Adventure Moreton Island offers exciting packages, designed to make your time on Moreton Island simply unforgettable. Adventure Moreton Island operates its tours out of Tangatours at the Tangalooma Island Resort. Choose from two Moreton Island tour options and customise it to create your perfect day. There is an activity to suit all ages, abilities and interests.
If you simply want a relaxing day, why not sit back and enjoy a sightseeing cruise, feed the fish and take a ride on a Segway along the beach? If you feel like getting out in the water, put on a wetsuit and join a snorkelling tour of the Tangalooma Wreck or learn how to sail a catamaran. If sport is more your style, why not try stand-up paddle boarding or kayaking?
Your day starts bright and early at 7am where you will be welcomed on board a luxury catamaran at Brisbane’s Holt Street Wharf. Enjoy a full day out on Moreton Island and take the catamaran back to Brisbane in the late afternoon.
