When visiting Tasmania – particularly the stunning Cradle Mountain – you really want to experience the Islands natural beauty in a manner that allows you to take in every sight, sound and smell. Exploring by car, quadbike or any other motorised method just doesn’t cut it when you really want to immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the area; however, horse riding offers the perfect mode of transport – calm and quiet, but also extremely fun!
Now you can take advantage of riding in Tasmania’s World Heritage Listed Cradle Mountain – part of Lake St Clair National Park. This glorious wilderness area rises 1,545 metres above sea level and offers sweeping views of the surrounding lakes, Barn Bluff, Mount Roland, Mount Ossa, Western and Black Bluffs. On your Cradle Mountain ride, you’ll amble through native species of flora, including myrtle forests, stands of Tasmanian eucalypt trees, tall conifers and ancient beech trees, dotted with huge boulders, cool mountain streams and dolerite columns. Within this mist-covered atmosphere, you’ll encounter some of Tasmania’s most unique and rare wildlife species, who are less likely to flee from horses as they are from a vehicle. This experience is suitable for all levels of experience and almost all ages (above yrs.).
