Sydney Harbour BridgeClimb

    Service rating:

The bridge climb is a great experience. First I thought it was overpriced, but later saw how many safety details are needed and how long it takes even to prepare. The climb itself was even nicer than expected, the views are out of this world! I did the twilight climb. Our climb guide, Joe, was extremely pleasant and fun to climb with and made us feel like one team going up and down the bridge. Highly recommend the experience.

    Hi Teri,

Thank you for your feedback. Having looked over your bookings I can see that all additional costs were detailed on your tickets.  The fees such as Insurance Levy for the Rafting and Environmental Management Charges for the Reef can only be paid on the day but this is detailed on the product listings and your tickets.

The prices advertised on our website are inclusive of the levies.

I hope you enjoyed your activities and time in Australia.

    Kind Regards
    Alex Roberts

I have done some amazing things over the last 13 years working in the tourism industry in Australia & New Zealand but this tour pretty much takes the cake in terms of the overall experience. From the check in process & safety briefing to the amazing tour guides, informative commentary and phenomenal views, the Sydney bridge climb is a world class tour and an absolute must do while in Sydney. I highly recommend booking the night tour as it's a bit cheaper than the popular twilight tour and you still get to catch the sunset and see Sydney at night in all its glory!

Do you have any climbs that are after 3pm?

    Comments

Yes there are usually several Sydney Harbour Bridge Climbs after 3pm (depending on the time of year). There is a twilight climb which offers views just before and just after sunset and is often regarded as the best climb, and there are also night climbs which take part after dark and (hopefully) under moonlight.

I want to figure out the very best time to start. The ideal would be full daytime at the start, then sunset at some point, and then full night on the way down. What is the best time to start in late February when sunset is around 7:30. Is a 6:30 start time the best bet?

    Comments

We would recommend booking the Twilight Summit Climb departing at 6pm. In late February, you would start the BridgeClimb in the daylight, catch the sunset and descend just as it is getting dark, so you would be able to enjoy the Sydney city lights from the Harbour Bridge (but it wouldn't quite be full nighttime).

How many stops are in the Sydney Harbour BridgeClimb?

    Comments

There are no set stops on the Sydney BridgeClimb, as such. While you are taking part in the climb, your guide will pause occasionally to provide commentary on the views you can see of Sydney. Once you reach the summit, the group will stop to take in the incredible scenery from the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, before starting the descent back down.

There is no reason a 78 year old cannot climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge if you are fit and healthy. It's not particularly strenuous but if you had any concerns I would consult your doctor before hand.

Yes you can book a specific time for the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb and in fact we recommend doing this as the tours do often get booked up several days in advance. Hi,
Wonder if you can help me?
I am going to book four of us to do the bridge climb. (3 x adults and 1 x child of 13yrs). The question I want to ask is that my 13yrs old does want to try the climb but is worried incase she panics and doesn't like it once we start. I've been told the staff are very helpful and will guide her if this happens. Will this be the case? Sorry to ask but we all want to experience this trip to the max.

    Comments

Hi Leanne. Yes you are absolutely right. The Sydney Bridge climb guides are very experienced at dealing with nervous climbers and will assist them every step of the way if necessary. Also, if at any point the climber wishes to stop and turn around then they will be guided back down.

If we are on an 11:50 flight from Cairns that arrives at 4:35 on Nov. 6 would be able to make the twilight climb without being pressed for time. This is our first trip to Australia and I'm not sure about the amount of time it will take to get from the Sydney airport to a hotel.( which we also need in Sydney), have a bit of time to wash up and grab a bite and then find our way to the bridge. Really want to do this but we're doing the sailing on the 7th and leaving on the 8th. Thank you.

    Comments

Hi Trish. On the 6th November the sun will be setting at just before 7.30pm in Sydney which means the twilight bridge climb will commence at about 6pm and you would need to check in to the Bridge Climb centre by 5.30pm. Given you are not landing until 4.30pm at Sydney airport I'd say you'd be pretty rushed to do the twilight climb as peak hour traffic in Sydney is pretty bad from the airport to town during the week. My recommendation would be to do a night bridge climb instead which will start just before sunset at 7pm and means you will have plenty of time after your flight lands to check in at your hotel and then make your way to the Bridge. This climb offers daytime views of the city and harbour on the way up as the sun is setting and then allows you to view the sights after dark also as you climb back down. It is also considerably cheaper than the twilight climb so in my opinion it is the best climb to do given the price and the best views of Sydney.

how far in advance do we need to book for a day climb across Sydney Harbour Bridge climb please? We are in Sydney around end October to mid November 2013

    Comments

Hi Nev. I'd recommend booking your Sydney Harbour bridge climb at least a few weeks in advance if possible as there are often large tour groups that book our entire times slots and even entire days. If you book via our site for a specific date but decide later that you want to change the day or time simply contact us by phone or email and we can make the change for you without any extra cost as long as you let us know at least 48 hours in advance of your original booking time.

Hi I am very interested in doing this climb but I would not be overly fit but would be ok. I was just wondering the pace they climb and do they stop regularly. I am Irish and I'm not sure how I would handle it in the heat. I'd love some advice before I book it. I would want to be doing it on the 16th of September proble at night cause it be cooler.

    Comments

Hi Marie. The night Sydney Harbour Bridge climb is fantastic and allows you to catch the sun before it goes down so you can see Sydney by day but also by night which is a nice contrast. The night climb is also quite a bit cheaper than the Twilight climb and it's definitely cooler when the sun goes down so you won't have any worries in regards to over heating. In fact, in September it can still get down to 10 or so degrees Celsius at night so wear some warmer layers (a fleece is also provided for all climbers). As far as fitness goes, as long as you can easily walk the equivalent of a few kilometers and are able to climb stairs then you'll be fine. There are plenty of stops a long the way when the tour guide takes photos and talks about the views and the history and there are several opportunities to stop in the one spot for 5 or 10 minutes and just enjoy the spectacular scenery.

The climbs do get booked up quite a long way in advance so I would recommend booking via our site sooner rather than later.

I have to take medication for blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol but have never had any illnesses with regard to these conditions. Would I be allowed on the bridge? And what is you disclaimer with regard to this. I am average fitness for a person of my age.

    Comments

Hi Audrey. In general, you must not participate in the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb if you believe, or have reason to suspect, that your health or physical condition may put your health and safety, or that of other climbers, at risk. If in doubt, please speak to a Bridge Climb team member on the day when you check in to ascertain whether or not you are fit and healthy enough to do the climb. There will also be a climber declaration and disclaimer that you'll need to fill out and sign before beginning your Sydney bridge climb and you will need to indicate on this form that you have certain medical conditions that may prevent you from climbing. It may also be a good idea to consult your doctor or physician to get their expert medical advice prior to booking. If you do decide to book via our website but then on the day of your climb you are told by the Bridge Climb staff that you are not eligible to climb for medical reasons then we will of course refund your payment back onto your credit card.
