Tjapukai by Day
In the day, find out how the Tjapukai people fashion their own medicines using food from the bush, try your hand at playing a didgeridoo and learn how to successfully throw a spear and boomerang. In the Cairns Tjapukai Dance Theatre, marvel at a traditional Tjapukai performance.
Tjapukai by Night
Enjoy an entertaining cultural extravaganza as you take in a delicious buffet dinner. Learn about traditional Aboriginal culture through music, dance and listening to dreamtime stories which will steep you in the mysteries and magic of ancient Australia.

- Tjapukai is open to the public 9am - 5pm and 7pm - 10pm 7 days a week
- Limited transfers are also available from Port Douglas at an extra cost
- Boomerang Restaurant - if you're on the day tour why not stay for morning or afternoon tea, a light snack or buffet lunch in the restaurant. The Cairns Boomerang Restaurant is fully licensed
- Retail Gallery - check out authentic Aboriginal products we have available in our Gallery. Products available include boomerangs, paintings, didgeridoos, artifacts & much more
- Souvenir Photos - have your picture taken with a Tjapukai performer to capture your special moment. Your photo can be collected from the Photo Hut which is located directly next door to the Tjapukai Cairns Dance Theatre
- Tjapukai is an all weather venue
- Children under 4 years of age are free

Yes, Tjapukai cultural park in Cairns is wheelchair firendly. You can walk around as much or as little as you like as there are plenty of good, flat paths
